ALES a.s. company has successfully carried out the supply of the new ATM system ICZ LETVIS for Fujairah International Airport (FIA) in the United Arab Emirates.
The project was implemented in cooperation with Bayanat Airports Engineering & Supplies Co. LLC in accordance with the contract signed in 2018. ALES became part of the international team of suppliers responsible for the construction of the new airport in Fujairah. Our second project in UAE was complicated and extended due to Covid restrictions. The project was suspended in 2020 and then restarted in 2022.
The test mode of the ICZ LETVIS system was launched after its successful Site Acceptance Tests, which were carried out directly at the Fujairah Airport in March 2024. Our team composed of Filip Chovanec, Richard Ďurian and Tomáš Chovanec tested the system functionality, individual modules as well as flight data processing and displaying, technical monitoring, recording and archiving of the records. The novelty that we first deployed to the customer was the user interface for working with electronic flight plans (ICZ LETVIS EFS) using control through touch LCD. Part of the contract was also the training of technicians and operators, which was implemented by our colleagues Jaromír Chomut and Štefan Kmeť.
At the beginning of February 2025, the project moved to its last implementation phase, which is the real operation and warranty support of the ATM system.
We are proud of ALES team, who, despite strict Covid restrictions and related complications, has been able to successfully develop, integrate, test and train the new ATM system for the customer in the United Arab Emirates. We will continue to cooperate with the subsequent service contract.
